Digitally remastered by the composer with significant audio enhancements. Contains two major compositions for orchestra - the Euphonium Concerto and Symphony No. 1 ("Esperanto") for mezzo-soprano and orchestra, with original text in the international language Esperanto, plus the bonus track Elegy for string orchestra, realized and recorded via computer using digital instrument samples. Vit Micka conducts the concerto and symphony with the Czech Republic's Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra and soloists Jíři Vydra, euphonium, and Kimball Wheeler, mezzo-soprano. This recording includes the first symphonic composition ever written using the international language Esperanto as well as the first commercial release ever of a composition by an American composer for euphonium and orchestra.
